The glass reactor is ideal for modern fine chemicals, biopharmaceuticals and new material synthesis as it can be stirred under atmospheric or negative pressure conditions according to the requirements of use in a closed glass reactor under set constant temperature conditions. With the development of technology and the expansion of demand in biopharmaceutical and other industries, the development of glass reactors has been accelerated, and the types and functions of products have been increasing, and the applications have become more and more widespread.

Reasonable installation and correct operation of the equipment are the prerequisites to ensure stable operation of the glass reactor. Pay attention to insulation

 

It is understood that because the thickness of the sandwich layer in the middle of the glass reactor is small, the insulation performance is poor. In the process of using high and low temperature, users need to use thermal insulation material to protect the kettle body with thermal insulation.
At the same time, users need to wrap the body of the reactor and the tube of the liquid conductor with thermal insulation material and pay attention to the thickness of the insulation layer to ensure a better thermal insulation effect.

Temperature control medium selection

 

Generally speaking, users will choose different nature of temperature control media according to the required reaction temperature as the reaction heat propagation media. For low temperature, a bath is selected, for room temperature, a water bath is selected, and for high temperature, an oil bath is selected.
TOPTION recommends that when using low or high temperatures, attention is paid to choosing the right medium, the key being viscosity. If the viscosity of the medium is too large, the circulation pump may fail to operate and cannot achieve the desired temperature control. Rashly replacing a high power circulation pump can easily damage the double glass reactor lining and cause the reactor to break.

 

Precautions for filling

 

Since the double-layer glass reactor is an independent reaction shelf, and the reserved filling port is small, the process of filling is difficult.
In this regard, we suggest that solid reagents can be prepared into solution and added into the kettle, and liquid reagents can be pumped into the kettle by matching pumps or oil pumps.
In addition, the one-time dosage of the glass reactor should not be too large. Users should evaluate the temperature, reflux and pressure of the reaction and add the appropriate dosage, which should not exceed 2/3 of the kettle body.

 

Storage location

 

Double-layer glass reactor as a reaction amplification test device, the volume is usually 50 - 150L, the volume of specific cases can be customized, therefore, the scale of the test should not be underestimated. Since the kettle is made of glass with stainless steel supports and casters, the storage location needs to be carefully chosen.
As far as the storage conditions are concerned, the casters can be fixed with a foot buckle, but the stability is not strong. Therefore, users should pay attention to choose a flat place for storage and keep the center of mechanical stirring in line with the reactor, otherwise it is easy to shake unstable and safety accidents will occur.
